We have had the best results with the "Do Nothing" healing method and it makes it easier for everyone! We recommend washing the tattooed area GENTLY 2-3 times a day with lukewarm water and mild antibacterial soap. Pat it dry with a clean, disposable paper towel and keep it out of the sun throughout the healing process. Do not apply any cosmetics in this area for AT LEAST 10-14 days and completely avoid sweating on the area for the first week. Just keep the area clean and let it breathe! If your skin starts to feel tight and dry around the fourth or fifth day, you may then use a SMALL amount of plain, fragrance-free lotion or moisturizer IF NEEDED. If you DO need to moisturize, please do so sparingly.
Expect slight swelling, redness and/or thickness for the first 1-2 days. On the day following your procedure, gently cleanse the area twice a day with lukewarm water and mild antibacterial soap. Pat dry with a clean, disposable paper towel. Do not apply any cosmetics in this area for AT LEAST 10-14 days and completely avoid sweating on the area for the first week. Sparingly apply the aftercare ointment given to you with a clean Qtip. DO NOT pick or rub the area!
Expect slight to moderate swelling and/or redness. You may apply cool compresses (not ice) to the eyelids for 10 mins, two times a day. Two times daily, gently wash the area with lukewarm water, baby shampoo and a Qtip. Apply lubricating eye drops containing BORIC ACID to moisturize. Do this for seven days following the procedure. DO NOT rub or pick the area! You MUST use NEW mascara to avoid contamination or infection!
Expect moderate swelling for 1-2 days after the procedure. It is important to apply cold compresses (not ice) to the area for the first two hours, and can be continued throughout the day. Cleanse with cool water and pat dry with a clean, disposable paper towel. DO NOT pick or rub the area!
PLEASE NOTE: After the procedure, the lips may appear to have too much color. After 3-4 days, the color will become lighter as it heals. At this point, it may even appear that you have lost all of your color. As the pigment settles and locks into your skin, the color will gradually become darker. The complete healing process for lips can take up to one month. It is not uncommon to lose 35-40% of color after your first session and a follow up session is required.
